What makes a Hambone challenge

Each challenge starts with a clearly defined statistical question, such as a franchise leaderboard, a season category, or an all-time achievement. Players try to identify the names on that leaderboard before using four strikes. Correct answers reveal positions and build a score; the remaining answers become more valuable as the board gets harder.

How challenges are researched

Challenge ideas are selected and assembled by Hambone Sports. Statistical records are gathered from publicly available historical sources, normalized where names or franchise histories differ, and reviewed before publication. The question wording identifies the league, team, time period, and statistic that determine the answer set.

Sports records sometimes change because of corrections or differences in league definitions. Hambone Sports treats the published challenge as an entertainment game rather than an official record book. If a board appears incorrect, players can report it to contact@hambonesports.com for review.

Designed for daily play

A new challenge offers a short test without requiring an account. Guest progress stays in the browser, while registered players can keep history and statistics across sessions. The archive makes earlier boards replayable, so a missed day does not make a challenge disappear.
